Terve vaan kaikille. Uudet nettisivut on pystyssä kuten kukin näkee.
So long. |

Big time reviews!

Disgrace: Born Tired (Gashopper)
4/5
Disgrace’s beginning as a Death Metal band runs in the remote past while listening to ”Born Tired”.
Surprisingly enough, their lengthy phase in aggressive garagerock seems to be over as well. These fine gents from Turku have gradually opened doors to genuine [firm/old-school/solid/retro] rock’n’roll where the goals are aimed at hip-shaking euphoria rather than serious-mindedness.
There’s a huge difference compared to the bygone days, Disgrace’s noisy punk influences have given way to melodies. “Born Tired” surprises with its congeniality with the early The Flaming Sideburns or even Cosmo Jones Beat Machine! Taskinen sings - like Nasma Team would put it, “like Elvis” – with a tad more rough voice, though. The occasional mishaps in English pronunciation excluded, there are no complaints to be found in the impressive vocalization. And the band is as tight sounding as always.
Beyond dispute, “Born Tired” is excellent party music, which in addition to the legion of fellows appeals to the gals as well. In live environment, this music must put a happy grin on your face and make you shake your legs, but for listening to it at home, these songs are a bit too fragile to let the CD lie on your player permanently. They still have the familiar sweaty drive going on, particularly that’s easily discernible in their intense song entitled “Cook no.3.” Disgrace is Finland’s MC5.

Disgrace - Born Tired CD (Gashopper)
4/5
Whoa, talk about a step up the ladder!! The earlier releases by Disgrace out of Finland have been a mixed bag in the sense that the quality has varied a lot from release to release and you got the impression that they didn't really knew what direction to go.
Well, this time they got it all right and Born Tired is certainly the best record I have heard from them so far. Disgrace play hard driving rock'n'roll and even though it can be hard to imagine they sound like a stoner rock version of The Flaming Sideburns. The songs are short and to the point and the sound is great…..thumbs up!
